I offer three different assessment options depending on your child’s communication skills and your main concerns. These sessions are relaxed, child-centred, and designed to make your child feel comfortable. I follow their lead and create a supportive environment where they can be themselves.
You don’t need to prepare anything in advance. I will bring everything needed for the assessment. If your child’s favourite toys are nearby, they can be a great addition to the session.
Each assessment includes:
A 45–90 minute session (depending on the type of assessment)
A case history and discussion about your child’s development and communication
A short debrief after the session
An optional written report (additional £70)
A 45-minute session assessing your child through play, followed by a short discussion with you.
A 45-minute speech assessment that looks closely at how your child pronounces words and sounds.
A 60–90 minute session assessing understanding, spoken language, play, and social interaction.
A detailed written report summarising the assessment findings and recommendations is an optional add-on. This can be especially helpful if you need to share information with your child’s school or other professionals.
If therapy is recommended after the assessment, I offer one-to-one sessions in your home, where you child is most comfortable. Therapy is tailored specifically to your child’s strengths, areas of need and your goals.
Each session is:
Around 45 minutes
£70 per session
Session length can be adjusted to suit your child’s ability to stay engaged, if needed
Therapy often involves play – bubbles, games, toys – but each activity is tailored to support your child’s communication goals in a relaxed and engaging way.
Sessions happen in your home, where your child feels most at ease. I offer flexible scheduling - weekday evenings or weekends - to fit around your family.
You’re encouraged to take part in the sessions. I’ll coach you through strategies so you feel confident supporting your child’s progress between sessions.
During each session, I’ll share how your child is doing and discuss what we should be focusing on next. We’ll notice and appreciate every sign of progress.
Support doesn’t end when the session does.
As part of your therapy journey with me, you’ll receive tailored resources, practical strategies, and clear guidance you can continue using at home – even between sessions or after therapy has finished.
These might include worksheets, activity ideas, or visual supports, all designed to help you feel confident supporting your child day to day.
And if you ever need a bit of advice or have a new concern, just get in touch – whether it’s been a week or a while. Feel free to contact me anytime.
I travel to you. A child is typically most comfortable in their own home.
I offer appointments on weekday evenings (after 4:30pm) and weekends, at a time that is suitable for your family.
An assessment and debrief can take between 45 minutes (speech assessment) to 1.5 hours (full assessment). Therapy will typically be 45 minutes, but we can adjust this if needed.
If you’d like an advice session, I can offer 1-off appointments.
If you’d like more regular support, we can arrange weekly therapy sessions.
We can arrange a block of therapy, or as many sessions as you’d prefer.
Sessions can be as flexible as you need, to suit your family life.
All children are unique in their progress, and I’ll always be transparent about how much therapy I think a child may need, when I meet them.
I would love to, however, since I work full time for the NHS, I am not available during school time to see your child privately. I am more than happy for you to video parts of our sessions to show to your child’s educational staff, and I am happy to email educational staff with plans and strategies for them to implement.
No problem! Feel free to send me a text or call 07543896349 or email elise@elisethespeechie.co.uk
